Program

The RBC FinSec Incubator program is hybrid, although the programming is primarily online, with a few in-person showcase events.

Participants should expect to dedicate between 3-4 hours per week to the RBC FinSec Incubator program.

The program is only offered in English at this time.

This program is tailored to early-stage, high-potential startups. Eligible companies should have:

  • A compelling fintech product requiring more robust cybersecurity and risk management practices to meet the compliance standards required within the financial services ecosystem; OR a tech-enabled product solving a compelling cybersecurity problem facing the financial services industry;
  • An Minimum Viable Product (MVP) with ongoing or upcoming marketing validation/commercialization;
  • The potential to become a scalable business in an expanding market;
  • A dynamic, receptive, and cohesive leadership team;
  • Existing or planned operations in Canada;
  • Been established within the last five years.

Workshops will be taught by cybersecurity and financial sector industry experts and serial entrepreneurs. The mentorship program pulls from the RBC and Catalyst network of experts in the field who specialize in helping startups operationalize their strategies.

The RBC FinSec Incubator program takes 5 months to complete.

The application process for the RBC FinSec Incubator starts in November 2025. Program delivery begins in February 2026.

Application

The application process for the RBC FinSec Incubator consists of an online application followed by a screening and an interview.

Following application submission, our selection committee will evaluate the applications and shortlist companies for a brief screening call.

Selected companies will be notified via email regarding their acceptance.

To make changes or update to your initial application, please email programs@cybersecurecatalyst.ca outlining the changes you would like to make.

The selection committee will run a staged due diligence process to evaluate the product/market potential, business traction, and founder/team capabilities.

Email is the main communication channel. Please ensure that you check your email on a regular basis.

Yes, all applicants will be contacted by email no matter the outcome.

You may only apply once per intake. If your application is not successful, you may reapply for a future intake.

You will receive an admission decision by February 26, 2026.
