Cyber Clinic for Mentors

Frequently Asked Questions

Program

The Catalyst Cyber Clinic connects Catalyst graduates with non-profit organizations that need help with their cybersecurity posture. Mentors supervise and coach the graduates during the engagement, and model ethical and professional conduct for the benefit of the teams.

The Consultants conduct a threat and risk assessment. They collaborate with the client on an asset inventory, a business impact analysis, a threat catalogue, and a cyber readiness assessment.

The project culminates in a final report and presentation to the client offering low-cost, easily implemented recommendations, in the form of a Cybersecurity Action Plan.

Responsibilities

Mentors coach and supervise the Consultant teams. Mentor responsibilities include ensuring high-quality cybersecurity consulting services to the clients, and supporting the professional development and career readiness of the Consultants. Mentors role-model ethical and professional conduct at all times.

During each client engagement (4-6 weeks), Mentors meet with the Consultant team at least once per week to provide direction, coaching, and troubleshooting. Mentors review and provide feedback on the Consultants’ deliverables, and attend key client engagements.

In addition supporting Consultants, Mentors participate in onboarding; provide updates and feedback to Catalyst program staff; and assess Consultant performance at the end of the engagement.

We have already identified Mentors for participation in the pilot program.
