Overview

Cyber Integration for Businesses is a new program that trains key personnel, including senior leaders, procurement advisors, and IT professionals. The training focuses on sector-specific programming, covering cyber technology adoption, best practices, and integration strategies.

Designed to address the unique cybersecurity needs of organizations operating in six key sectors in Ontario, the Cyber Integration for Businesses program seeks to advance the competitiveness of the participating companies by strengthening their cybersecurity posture, thereby empowering them to access national and international supply chains. Through funding from the Government of Ontario, the program is free to participants.

Take part in one or both offerings:
  • Webinar for senior leaders and technical advisors;
  • Six-week bootcamp for professionals within participating companies who have responsibility for cybersecurity, digital risk management, supply chain, procurement or product development.

Content will be adapted for each of the designated sectors and delivered to participating companies as per the following timeline:

AUTOMOTIVE: Winter 2024

SMART INFRASTRUCTURE: Winter 2025

LIFE SCIENCES: Spring 2024

ADVANCED MANUFACTURING: Fall 2024

LAW ENFORCEMENT: Spring 2025

MINING: Fall 2025

Cyber Integration Program for Businesses Operating in the Automotive Sector

Developed in collaboration with leading industry experts, this program will ensure that businesses working in the automotive sector have the necessary knowledge and tools to adopt the cybersecurity technologies and best-practices they need to compete globally and access national and international supply chains.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Staff must be employed in Ontario
  • Organization must be operating in or adjacent to the automotive sector

Geared specifically towards senior leaders working in the automotive sector, the webinar will offer expert insights on safe and secure digital adoption and integration. This event will kick off with a panel discussion featuring industry experts AJ Khan (CEO, Vehiqilla Inc.), John Heaton (Cybersecurity Partner, KPMG), Colin Singh Dhillon (President, ImagineQ Inc), and Jennifer Quaid (Executive Director, CCTX), followed by a session led by senior cybersecurity advisors at the Catalyst.

Topics covered will include:

  • Effective cyber risk management
  • Identification and implementation of cybersecurity goals and controls
  • Sector-based standards and compliance
  • Supply chain requirements
  • Threat and technical context training

Bootcamp: For technical and non-technical professionals

Duration: Six weeks (two hours of virtual programming per week)

This specialized bootcamp is designed for staff within participating companies – ideally, those with responsibility for technology planning, procurement, integration, and operations. Programming will include experiential learning, interactive discussions, and access to insights from cybersecurity experts.

Learners will be provided job aids such as checklists and templates for use within their organizations, and qualifying companies will also gain access to a one-year associate membership within CCTX.

  • Sector-based standards and compliance
  • Cybersecurity technologies and processes
  • Cyber risks for new products or services
  • Security-by-design principles and their application in product development
  • Enterprise and supply chain cybersecurity due diligence requirements

Self-Assessment and 1-on-1 Consultation

Self-Assessments

Take this online self-assessment to better understand your cybersecurity posture. This tool is available to all, and will provide you with a report that identifies critical shortcomings and provides insights for improving your organization’s cybersecurity.

1-on-1 Consultations

Once you have completed the assessment, qualifying participants will be invited to apply for a free consultation with a Catalyst cybersecurity advisor. Receive support in identifying critical shortcomings, prioritizing activities for safe and secure tech adoption and scaling, and developing an action plan for cybersecurity posture improvements.
