Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst, in partnership with the Future Skills Centre, conducted new national research to better understand how AI is reshaping early-career cybersecurity work in Canada and what that shift means for the skills, training, and experience new professionals need to succeed. Drawing on engagement with more than 100 employers and cybersecurity professionals across Canada, as well as pilot training with 55 early-career professionals, the research identifies how entry-level work and employer expectations are changing, which foundational skills remain essential, and where new approaches to training, hiring and assessment are needed. The report offers practical recommendations for employers, educators, training providers and policymakers to help prepare Canada’s cybersecurity workforce for an increasingly AI-enabled future.
