VIEW: Official Launch of Cyber Clinics Canada

On Wednesday October 14th, Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst welcomed partners and community leaders to Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) for the official launch of Cyber Clinics Canada, a nationwide initiative supported by $3.5 million in funding from Google.org, including $1 million to support the Catalyst’s leadership of the Canada-wide effort.

Led by the Catalyst, the initiative will help postsecondary institutions across Canada establish cyber clinics that provide free cybersecurity support to nonprofits and social impact organizations while giving students valuable hands-on experience.

Building on the success of the Catalyst Cyber Clinic, launched in 2025, Cyber Clinics Canada aims to expand access to cybersecurity expertise and strengthen cyber resilience in communities nationwide.

A special thank you to Google.org and our distinguished speakers, Dr. Mohamed Lachemi, President and Vice-Chancellor of Toronto Metropolitan University; the Honourable Stephen Crawford, Ontario’s Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement; and Sabrina Geremia, Vice President and Country Managing Director of Google Canada, for joining us to celebrate this milestone. We also extend our thanks to our panelists, Jeff Msangi, Associate Executive Director of African Community Services of Peel; Azi Vaziri, Senior Technical Program Manager at Google Threat Intelligence; and Jelena Kornicer, Master of Cybersecurity Student and Research Assistant at TMU’s Cybersecurity Research Lab, for sharing their insights and perspectives.
